A New Generation is Coming, but the Name „Bluemel“…

Blümel

A new generation is coming, but the Name "Bluemel" keeps standing for stability.
After my father retreated into his well-earned retirement, I am happy to announce that I have now taken over all of his previous functions completely. Our team has been expanded by Wolfgang Geringer, who will always be at your disposal, as I am, as regards to technical and business matters.

We will continue to run the business as you have known it from my father, with all benefits you have been used to, and we will continue to focus on the important things as longevity, loyalty, product quality and price/performance ratio.

The Market Punishes those Who Delay…
Roman Blümel
Horticulture has changed fundamentally in the last decades. Soil cultures have vanished from greenhouses, computers made their arrival. Rationality has become the slogan. When we installed the first RAM greenhouse computer in the mid-eighties, we didn’t know how the market was going to develop in the next decades. At that time we could not imagine cultures would be grown a meter above ground, and much more effectively than on ground-level.

Time has become the slogan – there is not much of it. The market dictates horticulture. There is no way around dealing with certain trends and putting them into action. The motto is: if it raises the yield and saves money, it is employed in the greenhouse. The faster you do this, the better for the business. Freely adapted from Gorbachev: The market punishes those who delay.

Too Expensive or too Cheap?
Wolfgang Blümel
Do you ever experience this: you have put a lot of money and time into a culture - and then the price you are being offered is one that would be achieved by any „mass product“. At the first glance it also looks the same – it is a tomato or a cucumber. But what kind! How are you supposed to deal with this kind of situation? Also produce “uncaringly”? Eventually if possible it is best not to join the „price war“. Expensive are only those things that turn out not to be what they promise. If you want that “Mercedes-feeling” you have to buy a Mercedes.

A Fiat Uno certainly is a good car – but not if you want that „Mercedes-feeling“. If you take a longer car trip you will certainly find out fast, which brand lets you travel more comfortably – and therefore in a better way. Not cheaper – that’s not the point. It is about being on the road comfortably – without repairs or other spoilsports. This way even a Mercedes can be cheaper for you.
